Lisa Abeyta founded Byzy Consulting to help other business owners up their game faster. As a serial entrepreneur, writer and teacher, she’s not only raised venture capital for her own startup and grown a company for a single employee to a global platform with customers on three continents, she has also previous run a startup accelerator for women and trained others how to build their own companies. She’s been a professional writer for over two decades and is a longtime foodie. She is also the creator of the cooking series Tales From the Pantry.

Lisa previously served as a member of the Data Team for City Alive, a collective impact initiative focused on economic mobility for people of color within New Mexico. In 2020, she joined Voices in Action, a nonprofit eradicating the culture of sexual violence. She serves as a volunteer in the role of Vice President of Technology and Innovation and is a member of the Board of Directors.

Lisa is a frequent speaker, longtime writer and is currently a columnist for Inc.com. She has served since 2014 as a judge for the Stevie Business Awards.

She previously cofounded two organizations with Jessica Eaves MathewsHautepreneurs, billed as the premier network for women entrepreneurs in New Mexico and HauteHopes, a nonprofit focused on empowering under-represented women in their journey to achieve success as entrepreneurs.

Lisa previously served on the Congressional Business Advisory Council for then-New Mexico Congresswoman Michele Lujan-Grisham. She served as Chairperson for the STEMabq Advisory Board and was a member of the Albuquerque Women’s Entrepreneurial and Business Council. Lisa has received the New Mexico Women In Technology Award, the 2018 Startup Innovation award, and she has also been named a Woman of Influence in New Mexico.

YouTube – Much to her surprise, within hours of launching her personal YouTube channel with only one video, it was viewed by millions and featured on ABC, ABC Nightly News, Laughing Squid, Gawker, and seen around the globe. Her video of her father went viral in 2014, with over 2 million views in 24 hours, 5 million views within the first week, and 6,584,994 within a year. The video was also featured in a PBS special on Alzheimer’s. Today her YouTube channel is also home to her growing number of cooking videos.

Inc. Column: Broad Insights – In late 2015, Inc. Magazine reached out to invite Lisa to serve as a columnist, sharing insights on civic technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, venture capital – and women within all of the industry topics.

Huffington Post – Lisa was invited to be one of the first Icon Next contributors for Huffington Post because of her innovation in the civic tech industry and her leadership with women entrepreneurs. She writes about a wide variety of topics, including women’s issues, parenting, education, civic tech, and aging parents.
